Abstract:
Based on Biot’s consolidation equation, the axisymmetric vertical vibration of an end bearing pile embedded in saturated soil is theoretically investigated. By virtue of the differential operator splitting and variable separation method with the consolidation equation, the solutions of volumetric strain and pore water pressure are obtained. Then an analytical solution for vertical vibration of the pile in saturated soil is given. Under the assumption of perfect contact between the pile and soil, the finite solution of the pile-soil system is derived in a closed form. It is shown that the solution is in good agreement with Li Qiang’s solution. And by parametric study of the impendence function of the pile head, some useful conclusions are obtained.
