Abstract:
An efficient nonlinear reinforced concrete bar element is proposed, which is applicable to push-over analysis. Corresponding computer program is created. In cross-section analysis, integral results are obtained by using line integral over the external line of cross-section, thus exact solutions are obtained with fewer integral points. In bar element analysis, substructure technology is used. A column or a beam is modeled as one bar element, as a result, accuracy is improved and degrees of freedom are reduced. Through the analysis of three different examples, results calculated by the proposed element and by ADINA, a general purpose finite element software, are compared. The results show that the proposed bar element has advantages of preciseness and efficiency, and can be applied to the practical engineering.
