Abstract:
Wenchuan earthquake left numbers of buildings collapsed and countless losses of lives and properties. This paper analyses the damage mechanism of split-level brick-concrete structures in major disaster area of Wenchuan earthquake. Through on-site surveys and structural analysis, a realistic computational model is established. The calculated results are consistent with the actual earthquake damage states. Causes of the damage in split-level brick-concrete structure are discussed, and some experience and lessons are summarized.
