Abstract:
The conventional Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) method doesn’t take into account the inherent randomness in structures. In this paper, a new IDA method considering structural random properties is put forward, which combines a new point estimate method based on Nataf transformation with the single-record IDA method. The new approach is applied to a R.C. frame structure, for which the random IDA curves are obtained. It is demonstrated through a numerical example that the new IDA method can be efficiently used to investigate the effect of structural random properties on IDA results.
