Abstract:
Elasto-plastic dynamic responses of long-span reinforced concrete frame structures with haunched members (RCFH) are studied under near-fault pulse-like vertical ground motions. 10 ground motions of Chichi earthquake are selected and divided into two groups. The long-span plane RCFH structure simplified from the practical engineering project is employed to perform elastic-plastic dynamic time-history analysis. Vertical mid-beam displacement and axial pressure of bottom column base of structures are compared under the vertical pulse-like and vertical non-pulse ground motions, and the effects of the structural system parameter on vertical mid-beam displacement are analyzed. The study show that the vertical earthquake response of long-span RCFH structure is significant, especially under the pulse-like ground motions; the structural system parameters have an important influence on the vertical pulse-like earthquake response.
