Abstract:
p-y curve method is widely used in the analysis of load-displacement response of laterally loaded pile, but this method cannot accurately reflect the actual distribution of soil resistance around the pile. Taking actual pile-soil interaction into consideration, the relationship between radial soil pressure and radial displacement is established according to the assumption that the radial soil pressure around the passive side of pile increases with the increase of radial displacement in a trend of hyperbolic curve, while the radial soil pressure around the active side of pile decreases linearly with the increase of radial displacement. On this basis, initial stiffness of friction resistance is improved and the friction resistance is solved by adopting the hyperbolic load transfer model. Finally, the method of soil resistance with the consideration of the actual form of distribution is proposed, and the correctness is verified by two numerical examples. In addition, the results of parametric analysis show that the contributions of radial soil pressure and frictional resistance to soil resistance are related to the horizontal displacement. In the limit state, the shape coefficient of the non-uniform distribution of the horizontal component of the friction resistance on the pile side by traditional method is too large and a suggested value is given. Furthermore, the formulas of matched curves are obtained by means of normalized analysis of the horizontal component of radial soil pressure and friction resistance, which can provide reference for subsequent analyses.
