Abstract:
A total of 12 circular tapered hollow sreel tube reinforced concrete stub columns subjected to axial compression were tested. The main parameters were the tapered angle, the diameter of a crossing section and with or without embedding a hollow steel tube. The influences of different parameters on the compressive mechanical properties of these specimens are discussed. Based on this, a simplified formula is put forward to calculate stub column bearing capacity. The test results show that the influence of the three parameters on the compressive specimens are very obvious, and the calculated results show a good agreement with the experimental results, and the formula can reasonably evaluate the ultimate bearing capacity of circular tapered hollow steel tubes reinforced concrete stub columns.
