Abstract:
The numerical model of folded reticulated shell with local opening was established based on the computational fluid dynamics code Fluent 6.3. The size of the computational domain, the boundary conditions and interface conditions were discussed. The contours of wind pressure coefficients for the inner and outer surface of the reticulated shell with local opening were obtained. Parametric studies were carried out to investigate the influence of wind speed, wind direction, the location and the size of the opening on the distribution characteristics of the wind pressure. The wind pressure was compared with that obtained from the empirical formula and good agreements can be observed. The net wind load shape coefficient was obtained based on the wind pressure coefficients of the inner and outer surface.
