Abstract:
The arc-shaped interfacial crack in a hollow cylindrical multiferroic composite subjected to antiplane load is discussed. The hollow cylinder contains a non-homogeneous ferromagnetic layer and a non-homogeneous ferroelectric layer. Based on the method of variable separation, an infinite series expansion is employed to reduce the mixed-boundary value problem to a singular integral equation of Cauchy kernel, which is solved numerically by standard Lobatto-Chebyshev quadrature technique. Numerical results of the stress intensity factor are obtained and the effects of the graded parameters, geometrical and material constants on the fracture parameter are discussed.
