Abstract:
The circular tube T-joint models are established by using finite element (FE) program ABAQUS. Sequentially coupled thermal-stress analysis method is utilized to study the fire resistance performance of the joints under the conditions of ISO834 heating environment and different applied loads. Verification models are built according to experiment, and the results obtained through the analysis are compared with the experimental results. The comparison results show that the models are reliable. The fire resistance models of circular tube joint are established based on the verification models. The influence of geometric parameters and different load ratios on fire resistance performance of joint is obtained by analyzing the chord deformation-temperature curves, axial reaction force-temperature curves and the failure mechanism of tubular joint.
