Abstract: According to the analyses of reliability in strength of materials it has been proposed in this article some basic conceptions and calculating formulas of the reliability theory. An example has also been presented to give the calculating results concerning the method of safety coefficient and that of the reliability. The comparison results of these two methods show that the reliability method possess certain, potentialities not only to perfect the quality but also to lower the cost of the products.
