EXPERIMENT ON DYNAMIC TENSILE DAMAGE BEHAVIOR OF CONCRETE AFTER UNDERGOING LOADING HISTORY

Dynamic tensile loadings with different strain rates and various magnitudes were imposed on plain concrete specimens, and then the dynamic tensile damage tests of these specimens were conducted with the axial strain rate ranging from 105/s to 102/s. Effects of the loading history on dynamic tensile strengths, dynamic strain-strain curves and dynamic damage behaviors of concrete were investigated. It was found that both the dynamic tensile strengths and damage thresholds of concrete decreased after undergoing a loading history but the critical strains of concrete were independent of loading histories; Keeping the stress ratios and strain ratios unchanged, the damage values of concrete increased with the increasing loading history.
