COMPACTION MECHANICAL RESPONSE AND ANALYSIS OF VISCOELASTOPLASTICITY MODEL PARAMETER FOR LOOSE HOT ASPHALT MIXTURE

  • Based on the asphalt pavement compaction process, the loose hot asphalt mixture was compacted by the MTS(Material Testing System), temperature was measured by PT100 temperature recorder. The compaction mechanical response curve and temperature decreasing laws of the mixture are obtained and its mechanical behavior is analyzed. A new viscoelastoplastic constitutive equation based on the effective stress is established to reflect the rheological characteristic of the asphalt mixture, the viscoelastoplastic parameters and temperature are determined and the compaction behavior is analyzed under each load cyclic. The results indicate that, the loose hot asphalt mixture has distinctly viscoelastoplasticity; the compaction test reflects roundly its deformation characteristic; mechanical characteristic is showed well by viscoelastoplasticity model parameter during compaction process. The mixture can get effective compaction in a certain temperature range and compaction power, the theory foundation and test way are provided for the research on compact rheological performance and construction techniques of the hot asphalt mixture.
