INTERACTION BETWEEN A SCREW DISLOCATION DIPOLE AND CIRCULAR-ARC INTERFACIAL CRACKS IN PIEZOELECTRIC SOLIDS

  • The electroelastic interaction between a generalized screw dislocation dipole and circular-arc interfacial cracks subjected to remote combined mechanical and electric loads is investigated. By using the complex variable method, the general solution of the problem is presented. A closed form solution is derived for a single circular-arc interfacial crack. The complex potentials in the inhomogeneity and the matrix, the intensity factors of stresses and electric displacements induction are provided. The image forces and the image torque acting on the dislocation dipole center are also calculated. The influence of crack geometry, electroelastic material property and location of the screw dislocation dipole on the stress intensity factors, the image forces and the image torque are discussed.
