EQUIVALENT STATIC WIND LOADS ON HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS BASED ON INVERSION METHOD

  • An inversion method for the equivalent static wind loads (ESWLs) on high-rise buildings is proposed according to a rigid model synchronization pressure-measured wind tunnel test, in which, by using the concept of virtual generalized coordinates, the displacement-related equivalent static wind loads can be obtained on the basis of the linear least square method when the final displacements are known, and the internal force-related equivalent static wind loads can be acquired by a cantilever element force balance method when the final internal forces of each section are known. It is noteworthy that in the proposed approach the final dynamic responses are directly calculated by the complete quadratic combination approach (CQC) and no longer separated into the background component and the resonating component, moreover, the multimode coupling can be considered. Finally, a rigid model synchronization pressure-measured wind tunnel test of X3-2 office building in Lujiazui is performed to illustrate the application of the inversion method for ESWLs, and the result comparison of the static method to CQC approach demonstrates its effectiveness.
