CABLE-SLIDING FRICTION ASEISMIC BEARING AND ITS APPLICATION IN BRIDGE SEISMIC DESIGN

  • Aseismic devices that are widely used in recent thirty years were evaluated firstly, then a new class of aseismic bearing, cable-sliding friction aseismic bearing (CSFAB), and its design characteristics were introduced, which combines ordinary pot rubber bearings with elastic cable devices located between the upper deck and the lower piers. The hysteretic behaviors and the friction coefficient between stainless steel plate and PTEE plate under different vertical loads were tested. Finally, a finite element model of four-span continuous composite box-girder bridge was established to analyze the seismic behavior of the bridge taking into account different site conditions. The results show that CSFAB can decrease the seismic responses of bridges in different site conditions.
