  • In this paper,a plexiglass model test is represented.The 15-story model is a tube-in-tube structure with widely spaced peripheral columns on the ground floor.The center-to-center column spacing on the ground floor is twice as large as that on the typical floor.Some emethods were used in order to keep the tube action of the structure. The deflection curve and the load distribution of the structure subjcted to lateral loads were obtained.Based on the results of the model test,the behaviour,of the tube-in-tube structures is discussed, which is of concern in the building design.
