A Study of Convergence of Variable-number-nodes Three-dimensional Incompatible Isoparametric Elements

This paper presents a variable-number-nodes three-dimensional incompatible isoparametric element. The element passes the patch test. The deduction and the respective formula of the algorithm are given in the paper. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the reliability, the accuracy and the applicability.
