  • In this paper, a new mtthod—QR method fer analysis of tall building frame structures is presented. The displacement of frame nob is represented by the following functions: where φi(x) is spline functians, Xm(y) is polynomial functions. Based on the variation principle arid Hamilton's principle, static and dynamic analysis can be done. several tall building examples are tested and the results clearly exhibit that the new method is a powerfull numerical method for tall building analysis, in both static and dynamic. Examples are carried out with personal computer IBM-xt. This method is a economical method and can save much computer core and computing time.
