APPROXIMATE DESIGN METHOD FOR SECOND ORDER EFFECT IN HIGHRISE FRAMEWORKS

  • A Drastically simplified hand manipulation technique by considering second order effect including both P-A and P-δ effects has been stipulated. Comparison between the results given by the presented paper and the those more accurate solutions provided by computers has shown good agreement, and it is convinced that the presented method could be an aid the design work. Furthermore, the second order effect on the behaviour of frames has also be comprehensively studied.
