  • The structural control idea based on the experimental resultsof lowrise shearwall with horizontal short keyways subjected to cyclic loading and its analysis is applied to multi-story framed shearwall structuralsystem so as to improve earthquake resistant behavior of structures concerned. In order to understand real behavior of multi-story shearwall with horizontal keyways in action of seismic loads and to make the comparisonwith that of ordinary shearwall at the same time, the author constructed2 small R. C. structural models with 4-story high, The shaking table test of the models by directly inputing seismic waves was carried out, the test procedure went through elastic, cracking and failure stage of structures.Dynamic characteristic and dynamic response of structures at differentstages was stuided, and comparison about failure pattern of 2 models was also made. The test results showed that earthquake resistant behavior of shearwall with horizontal keyways is obviously better than that of ordinaryshearwall.
