Abstract
The process of molten aluminium infiltration with different viscosity in porous medium under low-pressure was investigated through organic transport material simulation based on the principle of similarity. Experiments indicate that the plane surface of infiltrating liquid advances perpendicularly and conforms to the law of fourth root.At a certain time t,the Reynold's number Re(t),the resistance coefficient λ(t) and the pressure lose can be calculated by corresponding formulas. It is found that the temperature t(or viscosity)changes of molten aluminium in a certain range exert a little influence on the infiltration velosity. The filling time in the simulater was compared with that for prototype, both being in good agreement.
