THE EFFECTS OF FOUNDATION ELASTICITY AND CRACK ON DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF GRAVITY DAM BY THE METHOD OF PARTICULAR SOLUTION BOUNDARY ELEMENT

  • The particular boundary element method is studied in this paper. It is used to study the effects of the elastic foundation and the horizontal cracks at the bottom of gravity dam on the dynamic behavior of the dam. The method is also extended to treat double region problems. Some useful conclusions are drawn from the present research.
