THE INFLUENCE OF SIZE ON MEASURING THE SPECIFIC FRACTURE ENERGY OF AAC

In this paper the wedge-splitting specimens recommended by RILEM are used to determine the specific fracture energy G_f of AAC. The influence of the specimen's size is investigated and analyzed with the theory in fracture mechanics.According to the data such a conclusion can be drawn that if the specimen is thicker than 200mm and the ligament is higher than 130mm, the influence of size is negligible.
