BOUNDARY ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF INITIALLY CURVED THIN PLATE IN BENDING

  • The boundary. element method for initially. curved plate in bending is established in the paper. Since the governing equation of initially curved thin plate in bending is rather complicated, it is difficult to set up boundary integral equation by solving the equation to obtain fundamental solution. On the basis of introducing equivalent load, the governing equation of the problem is transformed into the form of ordinary plates. The boundary element method for ordinary plate bending is employed to tackle the problem through iteration. Numerical examples are presented. The method is shown to be accurate and efficient.
