DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF STIFFENED PLATES USING BEM FEM

  • In this paper, the dynamic analysis of stiffened plates is studied with coupling BEM with FEM. The thin plate component in a stiffened plate structure is analyzed with nonsingularity BEM, and the grid component in the structure is treated with FEM. The coupling-equations, i.e., eigen-equations are derived from the conditions of equilibrium and compatibility. The natural frequencies and the modes of vibration are calculated. The method is suitable for stiffened plates in arbitrary shapes with any boundary conditions, and easy to be programmed. Some examples are provided with the results of good accuracy.
