ANALYSIS OF INTERACTION BETWEEN STRUCTURE AND TRANSVERSE ISOTROPIC SOIL BY COUPLING OF FINITE ELEMENT METHOD WITH BOUNDARY ELEMENT METHOD

  • Based on the potential theory, a boundary element method for 3D transverse isotropic soil medium is developed for the analysis of interaction between structure and soil (transverse isotropic) by coupling of FEM with BEM. A typical interaction between tall spatial shear wall structure and soil is analyzed. The numerical results are shown to be in good agreement with the measured data and results by FEM.
