EIGEN-INTERVALS AND ITERATIVE EIGEN-SOLUTION IN FRACTURE PROBLEMS

By analyzing the eigen-equations for cracks/notches with arbitrary opening angles and different surface conditions in the hi-material anti-Plane problem and the single material plane problem,this paper gives the existing intorvals of eigen-values for these two types of problems and an eigen-solver based on an interval iteration approach is developed. A number of numerical examples are given to show the excellent accuracy, efficiency and reliability of this approach.
