AN APPROXIMATE COMPUTATION OF COLLAPSE LOAD FOR CONCRETE-FILLED SQUARE STEEL TUBULAR COLUMNS UNDER ECCENTRIC COMPRESSION

  • Based on the experimental study of basic behavior for concrete-filled square steel tubular column with short length under axial compression, an approxiate computational method for determining the collapse load of concrete-filled square Steel tubular column with long length under eccentric compression is presented by using Jezek's formula extending to eccentrically compressed columns made from composite materials. Numerical examples show that both experimental and computational results are in good agreement.
