  • A finite difference method combined with perturbation method for the geomet-rically linear and nonlinear analysis of shallow shells with arbitrary shapes is presented in this paper.The method is completely general with respect to various boundary conditions,load cases ,and the shapes of shells because of the adoption of irregular meshes.The numerical results show that the method is efficient with higher accuracy and lower computing time.
