APPLICATIONS OF FUZZY OPEN-LOOP CONTROL TO STRUCTURE EARTHQUAKE RESPONSE

  • In this paper, the application of fuzzy set theory to structure vibration control under earthquake is introduced. A static fuzzy controller based on earthquake acceleration is developed.The controller can simulate nonlinear force control related to one variable via fuzzy relations implemented by linguistic rules. It is demonstrated that earthquake response of structure can be decreased by the method of fuzzy open-loop control. The effect of time delay in actuator on response of structure under earthquake is also studied.
