RESEARCH ON APPLICABILITY OF STRESSCONCENTRATION FACTOR PARAMETER EQUATIONS OFWELDED STEEL TUBULAR JOINTS

Due to the complex effects of geometric parameters on the stress concentration factor (SCF) of welded steel tubular joints, there exist some uncertainties in the results obtained from the parameter equations. To take the different loading conditions into account, varying coefficients are introduced into the parameter equations. The applicability of the resultant parameter equations is evaluated. It is believed that the present results may offer useful guidelines in fatigue reliability analysis for offshore steel jackets and tubular joints.
