FEM NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF PROJECTILES STRIKING MULTILAYEP TRANSPARENT MATERIAL

  • A three-dimensional finite element model of projectiles striking multilayer transparent mateial was developed based on 3-dimension nonlinear FEM codes DYNA3D. The dynamic process of projectiles striking multilayer transparent maerial was simulated. The failure mechanism of multilayer transparent material was discussed. According to the computational results, the design method of improving anti-shocking multilayer transparent material was presented. The results of an example show the validity of the present model.
