A HYBRID BOUNDARY ELEMENT METHOD IN THREE-DIMENSIONAL THERMOELASTIC PROBLEM

Abstract
The fundamental solutions of displacements and stresses in infinite three-dimensional body due to a unit heat source are given in the present paper. Based on a fictitious heat source, the hybrid boundary element method for three-dimensional thermoelastic problems is outlined. Using the hybrid element method the numerical process is simplified greatly, since the discrehzation within the body is avoided. Examples are provided to show the validity and high accuracy of the method.
