THERMAL STRESS ANALYSIS FOR A THICK LAMINATED CYLINDER WITH TWO CLAMPED EDGES UNDER NON-UNIFORM TEMPERATURE VARIATION

  • Based on the fundamental equations of thermal elasticity, the state equation for a orthotropic laminated cylinder with clamped edges under thermal loads is established by introducing state space theory. An analytical solution is presented which is suitable for any thickness to span ratios. The solution satisfies all the boundary conditions both for displacements and temperature variation T at the clamped edges. Numerical results are calculated and compared with those of SAP5, indicating that the present method can be used to calculate the interfacial stresses accurately.
