EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF SHEAR STRENGTH OF VIBRATION CONSOLIDATED SANDY SOILS

  • Through orthogonal test on amplitude, vibration frequency, saturation degree and siltcontent, the shear strength of vibration-consolidated sandy soils was studied. The test results show that as the vibration acceleration exceeds the critical value, the shear strength of the vibration consolidated sandy soils grows at first and then decreases with the increase of amplitude, and monotonously grows with the vibration frequency. When the saturation degree exceeds 75%, the strength decreases with the increase of saturation degree. The excessive or insufficient silt-content is unfavorable to the vibrating consolidation of sandy soils.
