A NEW METHOD FOR DYNAMIC CONTACT ANALYSIS

In view of the defects associated with the current methods for dynamic stress analysis in contact plane in the dynamic compaction, a unit impulse load method is introduced by the authors to solve the dynamic contact problem. A three-dimensional dynamic finite element program has been written to conduct the dynamic calculation. Compared with other methods, the calculated results of the new method are in fairly good agreement with the practical observations.
