DIFFERENTIAL QUADRATURE METHOD FOR THE STABILITY ANALYSIS OF SEMI-CIRCULAR PIPE CONVEYING FLUID WITH SPRING SUPPORT

  • An attempt is made the extend the Differential Quadrature Method (DQM) to the stability analysis of curved pipes conveying fluid. The influence of several parameters on the critical flow velocity is studied. In comparison with other numerical methods, the differential quadrature method can deal with the problem easily due to its mathematical simplicity and avoidance of numerical integration. It is demonstrated that the application of DQM to the solution of the oth-order governing equation with unequally spaced sampling points is successful.
