EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON VARIABLE STIFFNESS BASE ISOLATOR MADE OF CONCRETE-FILLED STEEL TUBULAR SHORT COLUMN

  • The variable stiffness base isolator with concrete filled steel tubular short column is put forward, and pseudo-static tests of the prototype for sliding motion and rolling motion are carried out. The research demonstrates that the energy dissipation, ductility and variable stiffness of the isolator are satisfactory. The isolator is stable and very effective at various earthquake levels.
