  • This paper addresses the optimization of the cable-cabin structure utilized in large radio telescope. Downward cables are mounted on the cable-cabin structure to reduce its wind-induced vibration. Based on nonlinear equilibrium equations, optimum cable tension is determined using the least squares method. Numerical examples are provided to verify the present method. It is shown that the present method is effective in control of wind-induced vibration of the cable-cabin structure.
