  • Based on the test of an aeroengine apparatus, the bifurcation and chaos behavior of rotor-stator box with local rubbing is studied by means of numerical stimulation in this paper. A model with double masses and four degrees of freedom for studying the response of rotor and stator box is presented. In view of the case of multi-parameters, the bifurcation behavior and chaos motion of rotor and stator box are analyzed in detail. The parameters include masses ratio, impact-rub stiffness ratio, eccentric mass etc. Abundant dynamic behavior of rotor is identified by the diagrams displaying bifurcation and chaos characteristics, such as Poincare mapping, bifurcation diagram, maximum Lyapunov exponent, phase, locus, as well as amplitude spectrum. Besides multi-period motion, double period bifurcation, intermittence quasi-period, inverse bifurcation and “twin” fork bifurcation phenomena are also observed. Some theoretic results are shown to be qualitatively in agreement with the results of the test.
