A NEW CALCULATING METHOD FOR ALUMINUM ALLOY STRAIN FATIGUE

  • A new method for calculating amplitudes of the local stress and strain in the strain fatigue analysis of aluminum alloy members is presented in the paper. The method, named as the stress's work equivalence method, is used to calculate the fatigue life of 2024-T42 aluminum alloy specimens under constant-amplitude loading. The calculating result of fatigue life is compared with test data. It is shown that the new method offers accurate predictions.
