A GENERALIZED CONFORMING ELEMENT FOR THICK-THIN SLABS ON DOUBLE-PARAMETER FOUNDATION AND INVERSE ANALYSIS OF DEFLECTION FOR FOUNDATION PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION

  • Finite element analysis of slabs on double-parameter foundation is presented in this paper. Based on Mindlin-Reissner plate theory, a generalized conforming element for thick-thin slab on foundation is formulated. Inverse analysis of deflection and genetic algorithm are used to identify the foundation parameter. The numerical results of FEM are in good agreement with the experimental results. For comparison, the results for Winkler and Subspace foundation are also given.
