  • An approach to the modification of the compactly supported radial basis functions (RBFs) is proposed and used to simulate the wave propagation in an anisotropic laminate. The correlative matrixes and the procedures of solution are presented in the paper. Three examples simulating wave propagation in isotropic and anisotropic plates are used in the paper to verify this method. The stress wave propagation histories in the examples are obtained. The comparison is also made between the results by this method and the results by finite element method. The good agreement shows that this method can be used to simulate the wave propagation history in anisotropic material efficiently.
