ANALYTICAL SOLUTION OF 1-D VISCO-ELASTIC CONSOLIDATION OF SOILS WITH IMPEDED BOUNDARIES UNDER CYCLIC LOADINGS

  • The problem of one dimensional consolidation of soft clays under cyclic loadings taking account of rheological characteristics of soils and impeded boundaries is studied. According to the solution in the condition of constant loading, the analytical solution of cyclic loading is developed using the integral method. Based on the solution, the influence of some major factors on the consolidation behavior of soils is investigated and the relevant results are presented in graph forms. Some important conclusions are drawn.
