DYNAMIC INTERACTION ANALYSIS OF SLIDING BASE- ISOLATED BUILDING-SOIL-TUNNEL SUBJECTED TO UNDERGROUND EXPLOSION WAVE

  • In this paper, dynamic elastic-plastic responses of the interaction system consisting of a tunnel and the around finite soil, the far-field semi-infinite soil and a sliding base-isolated building subjected to an accidental explosion inside the tunnel are numerically analyzed using the coupling method of substructures. In the analysis of sliding base isolation, a modified continuous friction model is proposed to replace the conventional Coulomb friction model, which can avoid tracing the transient boundary between meshing and sliding and reduce the calculating error. The proposed method is verified through the comparison of numerical results using the coupling method with those using the Lysmer viscosity boundary method or the Modified viscosity boundary method. The numerical results offer the insight of the dynamic responses of sliding base-isolated buildings subjected to the underground explosion waves in consideration of the soil-structure interaction. The present work may serve as an important reference for further theoretical research and engineering practice.
