ONE-DIMENSIONAL THERMAL CONSOLIDATION CHARACTERISTICS OF GEOTECHNICAL MEDIA UNDER NON-ISOTHERMAL CONDITION

  • Based on a fully coupled thermal-hydraulic-mechanical formulation of saturated porous media,the analytical solutions of a one-dimensional thermal elastic consolidation model under non-isothermal condition are deduced by finite Fourier transform and its inverse transform.The analytical expressions of temperature,pore pressure and displacement are derived.For convenience of analyses,the concepts of thermal consolidation time factor and coefficient of thermal consolidation are defined.The thermal consolidation characteristics and its mechanism are studied.The effects of ratio of thermal consolidation coefficient to thermal diffusivity,and various combinations of external load and temperature are analyzed.Besides,the coupling effects of thermal expansion or contraction of soil on temperature evolution are also discussed.
