SOIL-STRUCTURE INTERACTION OF A DEEP CIRCULAR TUNNEL IN VISCOELASTIC SATURATED SOIL

  • Based on Boit's theory, the soil-structure interaction of a deep circular tunnel in viscoelastic saturated soil is investigated using a coupled porous-mechanical model. The creep property of liner is considered. The soil–structure is assumed to contact continuously. Analytical solutions of stresses, displacements on the contact surface of soil-structure and, membrane forces and bending moments of the liner are derived in the Laplace transform domain. Numerical results in time domain are obtained by inverting Laplace transform and the influence of relative rigidity, ratio of damp of lining and soil, and relative thickness of lining on the soil-structure interaction is studied. It is found that stresses, displacements, membrane forces and bending moments are time-dependent.
