DAMAGING CONSTITUTIVE LAW OF REINFORCED CONCRETE SPECIMENS UNDER MONOTONIC UNIAXIAL TENSILE LOAD

  • Based on continuum damage theory, this paper presents a tensile damage model for reinforced concrete (RC). It takes into account overall concrete damage, bond-slip relationship, and tension stiffening effect. From the characteristics of each element that assembles the model, the constitutive relationship of RC specimens under uniaxial tensile load is derived. The influence of damage parameters and reinforcement ratio on the tensile behavior of RC specimens is considered in the model. In comparison with experimental data, the model also gives several meaningful results, such as crack width prediction and initial cracking load of an RC specimen.
