  • The development and the current research of structural topological optimization are reviewed in this paper. The regular topological optimization methods are briefly illuminated. ICM (Independence, continuous, Mapping) method is recommended according to the authors researches on structural topological optimization. Some representative numerical examples of continuous structures and discrete structures illustrate the imminency and significancy of the research to transform the topological optimization model into independent level.
